Instead of lying down, Jouno moves to roll over so he's on top of Dazai, sitting on his waist with his legs on either side of him. With Dazai half-sitting, their faces are close, but Jouno makes no move to lean in and close the gap.
Dating has never been something on Jouno's mind, much less with someone like Dazai. His focus is school and on the destruction of others. The emotional availability required for a relationship is something that Jouno is sure that he lacks entirely. It's never bothered him -- arrangements like this, like the one he has with Dazai, are more than enough for him.
Jouno reaches into his back pocket to withdraw a switchblade, flicking it open and shut in quick succession. It's dangerously close to Dazai's cheek, but Jouno's not worried -- he has excellent control of it, and even if it were to slip and cut Dazai, the other wouldn't mind. If anything, he'd probably enjoy it.
"I'm tutoring now," Jouno answers, not sure why he's bothering to tell Dazai anything at all. "My roommate. It's... more frustrating than I had bargained for." TetchÅ is obedient, just... dense.
"Did you find a subject for our psychology project?"
